Let's face it... detention sucks. School sucks. The education system in New Jersey sucks. Jay Eitner REALLY sucks. EVERYTHING SUCKS!!

OK, that may be a tad too far, but let's rewind it to 'school sucks'. We've all felt that at some point, but that should NOT be the case in 2025. Unfortunately, that's nothing new with 600 school districts in New Jersey. I'm starting to blog again for a few reasons, but sometimes my best work formulated around my writings. Sometimes it was a post like this; sometimes it was a mere 280 characters; sometimes it was documenting the scads of conversations that I have had around the world with all walks of educational life. Some of my best ideas stemmed from conversations with an elementary custodian in Florida and a retired Principal now subbing in Washington state.

Many of you that have followed me have seen I've been in 46 states and have been on 6 continents (no, I am not going to Antartica, ever). I have been blessed to be on more beaches than most. Ate more different foods than most. Seen the world more than most. And yes, became a Superitendent of Schools WAY earlier than most (and still the youngest in NJ to ever do it). Where am I going with this? Despite doing so much at such a young age, I still have some unfinished business to attend to. There's still some things that I wish to accomplish.

But until then, if your're actually reading this, you're stuck in detention with me. What's comes next? Trouble. And anyone who knows the name Jay Eitner surely knows that equates to trouble. As a teacher, administrator and Superintendent, and consultant, I find the trouble, and I don't care. I get in trouble, and I really don't care. I report the trouble, and I feel pretty damn good when I do it, and don't care if anything happens to me if I do it. I've been in trouble since coming out of the womb.

Enough about me and how much I suck. You're stuck in detention with me, and we have a LOT of educational things to talk about that need to be fixed. What do we talk about first? Stay tuned, and if you don't, I don't care (because I'm watching you come back.)
